Corporate Medical Travel Discovery Tours
Join Maria Todd, a recognized leader in corporate medical travel program development for a discovery tour to medical travel destination hospitals and clinics and Centers of Excellence throughout the world.
Each tour features a different region of the world, with hotel and hospital site visits, a city tour, and a meeting opportunity with hospital executives, tourism officials, and other local value chain partners.
Fam tours allow benefits managers and plan administrators get up-close-and-personal with medical travel destinations and the regional assets that connect suppliers to corporate benefits buyers without obligation or pressures of expectations of a contract to be signed right away. This is just a discovery trip without sales pressures.
Join us on these pre-planned discovery tours at a fraction of the cost to arrange an identical tour just for your company.
The centerpiece of each discovery tour are the candid, face-to-face meetings we organize with local hospital, hotel and tourism officials and destination coordinators. You'll be able to share your corporate objectives about what you want for plan participants, the estimated case volumes you plan to refer, and amenities that are important to you.
These meetings will be as much of a learning exercise for the providers to learn what group health buyers want to buy as for the benefits managers and plan administrators to learn what's available.
You'll shadow Maria Todd on a site inspection at hospitals and clinics to see what questions she asks, how she evaluates admissions and pre-admissions coordination, nursing care, infection control, continuity of care, and discharge coordination. You'll also shadow her as she leads a site inspection of several hotels and evaluates check-in, local setting, restaurant services, security, housekeeping, spa and wet areas, reservation practices and more. You'll also shadow her as she evaluates ground transfer services, car hire, driver training, and safety and security measures. Maria will also lead site inspections through the airport to discover how the airport is equipped to handle visitors with mobility challenges, those who require a place to rest in the event of delayed flights, and those who require aisle chairs and additional assistance due to limitations in ascending and descending stairs and boarding and disembarking on transfer buses or storage of refrigerated medications and oxygen service.
Space is limited to 10 participants per discovery "fam" tour.
Upon arrival, each corporate medical tourism discovery tour will begin with an orientation session over breakfast to explain the background and history of the places we'll visit and to review the agenda and objectives for the day.
Background information will be supplied digitally. You'll be provided a digital outline and survey tool app that works on an iPad or Android tablet device to take notes and record observations and follow up questions. (Tablet not provided.)
Simply upload the app and your note taking, photography and site visit notes will be conveniently stored throughout the entire trip. At the conclusion of the trip, all your private notes can be easily downloaded into a spreadsheet so that you can easily produce a summary report of your discovery tour to share with colleagues and superiors.
Each evening, prior to group adjournment, the group will gather for a short debrief over cocktails and light appetizers. Where we will be joined by health tourism representatives of the community.
